History of the Federation
The Federation of Unity is the successor to the Democratic Republic of Unity. Its economy remains what the Republic built: publicly owned, planned, and industrial. What changed in the 2020s is how the state manages itself.
Chronology
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| 1961 | Proclamation of the Democratic Republic of Unity The Democratic Republic of Unity is proclaimed as a socialist state founded on collective ownership, centralised planning and national industrialisation. |
| 1962 | First Five-Year Plan Central planning begins in five-year steps, with heavy industry, power generation and the national rail network as its first priorities. |
| 1970s–2000s | Expansion and growth Decades of territorial expansion and economic growth bring new territories into the Republic and make it a major industrial economy. The ministerial bureaucracy grows with it. |
| 2010s | Administrative strain A government built for a smaller state struggles to manage a larger one. Ministries overlap, reporting slows, and the traditional bureaucracy becomes increasingly inefficient. |
| 2022 | The Federal Reforms begin The government is reorganised, not privatised, as if it were a single vertically integrated corporation. Ministries become executive divisions with their own boards, and performance is measured at every level. |
| 2024 | The Federation of Unity The state takes its present name. Citizenship is recognised in law as a shareholding in the Federation's collective assets, and the Ministry of Citizen Equity is established to administer it. |
| 2024–2028 | First Strategic Performance Cycle The first Strategic Performance Cycle replaces the five-year plan, setting objectives for every ministry, territory and district until 2028. |
The Federal Reforms
The Federal Reforms restructured the government as a single national enterprise. Every major industry remains publicly owned. Ministries operate as executive divisions, performance is measured, efficiency is rewarded, and growth is treated as a national obligation.
Under Corporate Governance, or Corpgov, every citizen is legally recognised as a shareholder of the Federation. Citizenship itself carries an equity stake in the nation's collective assets, and the profits of state enterprises return to citizens through social dividends, infrastructure and direct distributions.
Terms of government
The reforms also renewed the language of government. The terms below replaced those of the Democratic Republic in official use.
| Democratic Republic | Federation |
|---|---|
| Workers own the means of production. | The Federation manages the means of production on behalf of every shareholder. |
| Five-year plans. | Strategic Performance Cycles. |
| State planning. | Enterprise forecasting. |
| Ministries spending budgets. | Investment allocations. |
